Custom Landscapes – Over 30 Years

How it Began

Growing up in South Lake Tahoe, involvement in multiple sports, music, and academics taught me the invaluable life skills of drive, discipline, and teamwork. After graduating from South Tahoe High in 1993, I attended the University of Montana. As a freshman, I established Sierra Nevada Lawn & Garden, initially focusing on lawn and garden maintenance. I returned to South Lake Tahoe every summer to run it. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Biology, I returned to Tahoe to continue my business.

What it Became

Over the next few years, I transformed Sierra Nevada Lawn & Garden from a maintenance operation to a complete landscape design and installation company and became a fully licensed landscape contractor. In 2006, I sold the maintenance division of my company and officially changed its name to Earth & Stone Landscapes. From that point forward, my focus has been building residential and commercial landscapes. I strive to create a perfect blend of function and form for my clients.

What it Means to be a Part of this Community

My upbringing in South Lake Tahoe was deeply influenced by my parents, Doug and Daphne Forte, who were involved in all aspects of the community. Their involvement taught me the value of being part of a close-knit, supportive community and the power of interconnection. I aim to carry forward their legacy by building upon the connections they established. Even after 30 years in business, I rely on our community’s strength and the power of word-of-mouth to keep our crews busy.
